Executive Director’s Message

Happy Spring to You! Help YOUR museum thrive this Spring.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the staff of Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass, I am deeply grateful for your past support. With the continued generosity of our loyal benefactors, we have been busy making plans for an abundance of both new and renewed projects. These special events and projects will serve the community, boost the regional economy, and celebrate the arts. We ask for your financial support in fulfilling our mission to provide extraordinary experiences to spark fun, kindle creativity, and illuminate learning for all. Please consider supporting YOUR museum during our spring fund drive and consider a donation today.

A few of our exciting upcoming projects:

  • Catching Fire Virtual Auction, July 20th – July 30th, with July 27th at 6:45pm CST This on-line auction was conceived last year as a fundraiser for artists whose income was lost due to canceled art fairs during the pandemic. It was wildly successful for over 50 artists and the museum in its first year; it is now an annual event. Please join us online on July 20-30, with an online auction July 27! It’s FREE to register: https://event.gives/catchingfire
  • GLASS (Glass Lakeside Art Sale and Show) Arts Festival, Saturday, August 13 This new mission-based arts festival will focus exclusively on glass and be held on the museum’s grounds and will feature over 40 glass artists, blown glass demonstrations, kid’s activities with great food and local music. The admission-free, innovative event will be heavily marketed throughout the Midwest, bringing in visitors from far beyond the Fox Valley. We hope you attend with family and friends!
  • Museum Renovations Beginning in late 2022, the museum built in 1930 will undergo renovations to galleries and upgrades to exhibition spaces, last done in 1994. The upgrades will take place over the course of a year, and be staggered so that only one space will be closed at a time. Grants have been written, and donations and gallery naming opportunities will be sought to support the substantial costs. Please consider contributing to our growth!
  • Art After Dark These free, quarterly events have returned, with live music, food trucks, micro-breweries, and art for the whole family, including the kids’ tent. Over 500 visitors enjoyed Let It Glow! with neon t-shirts and glow sticks, when Art After Dark returned in September 2021. Please join in the fun on June 23rd from 5-8pm for our ‘80s Prom inspired evening.

Thank you for considering a gift of support to help us provide high-quality experiences in glass, admission free.
