Get Ready for Fall Fun!

Get Ready for Fall Fun!

Posted on Sep 3, 2021, by
It’s been one year since my arrival at Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass and I had the pleasure of now experiencing all of Wisconsin’s seasons. For an East Coast transplant, I have found each one special, but fall is my favorite. Especially this fall with all of our upcoming activities at the museum!

Did you know that you can bring your family and make a unique glass creation as part of our monthly Art Activity Day? On September 11th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, bring your family and friends to make a glass barn quilt in the Glass Studio, then stay and create a free kid’s activity, or go on a scavenger hunt in the galleries.
On September 16th from 5:00 – 10:0 pm, be our guests for the rebooted Art After Dark community party… “Let it Glow!” Wear your favorite light-up, Day-Glo accessories; tour the museum’s collections inside; and chill outside along Lake Winnebago with Mile of Music curated music, food trucks, local brews, and kids activities. Best of all, the fun is admission FREE!

A heartfelt thanks to our sponsors and partners for their support in the fun.
And finally on October 1st, please help us celebrate the public opening of the retrospective exhibition: Between Us, featuring the work of American Studio Glass Artist duo John Littleton and Kate Vogel. Exhibiting over sixty works that highlight their relationships to one another, their family, and their community, Between Us also shines a special spotlight on John’s father Harvey Littleton, the founder of the Studio Glass Movement. John and Kate will also be teaching a weekend Casting Master Class in the Glass Studio that delves into the techniques they use for casting hands.

We are deeply grateful to Sharon and John Amdall for their generous sponsorship of this exhibition. We also thank the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass (AACG) for providing programming support for the exhibition and The Boldt Company for their exhibition support.

So please make my fall season extra special and join me for these fun-filled times full of magical glass experiences at the museum.
